Ms. Haskell offers private voice lessons in ½ hour and 1 hour increments. Students are expected to attend lessons regularly and practice on their own in between lessons although lessons are scheduled by appointment from week to week. While most students choose to attend once a week others may choose to schedule three weeks a month because of work and family obligations. Freeing the natural voice, achieving vocal freedom and discovering the student's ideal repertoire are the goals of voice study. Students sing on studio recitals throughout the year and prepare for upcoming auditions. A professional cassette and digital recorder is available for students wishing to record their lessons for their personal use in practicing.
Ms. Haskell's students have been selected for the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, the Charleston County School of the Arts, and have received honors from the state and regional National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chamber Choir, the Charleston Music Teacher's Association, and have received music scholarships at major colleges and universities throughout the state and region.
